Tesla Owners of Washington in participation with the Boeing Employees Autosports Club (BEAC) would like to invite you to come and test your driving skills at an event that almost seems custom named for Teslas; Autopilot.  Autopilot is an annual event going as far back as the 1970’s that’s part of the 2022 Western Washington Sports Car Championship (WWSCC).  This is an autocross event that will be held at the decommissioned runway at Sanderson Field in Shelton, WA.  A special vehicle classification has been created for this event by BEAC specifically intended for Teslas and other EVs (CLUBH).  You can run in the EV class in the AM session or the PM session or both.  You register for Club H and then arrive at the event for the session you choose to run.  You will still need to arrive in time to registration for the session of your choice.  Official results will be posted on the WWSCC website after the event.  Regardless if you run in the AM or PM session all times will be group together in a single class at the end of the day.  For the maximum opportunities to get your best time, you can choose to run in an regular class in AM and then Club H in the PM.  The event will be held rain or shine and welcomes drivers of all skill levels.  For those new to the sport of autocross and/or motorsports, this is an opportunity to engage in some safe and legal racing to explore your car’s and your own limits.  For those experienced drivers with fast EVs, here’s an opportunity to go up against other EV drivers to see where you rank in western WA.  While participation in the EV class does not count towards WWSCC Championship points, TOWA will award 3 trophies to the top 3 times set by an electric vehicle in Club H at the event.

Autocross is a grassroots motorsports, it’s only possible through the participation and help of everyone driving.  You drive half the session and then you’ll be assigned a work assignment the other half of the session. Most work assignment will be watching over the course for cones that get knocked down or displaced and putting them back in their proper place. Refer to the WWSCC ‘So How Do I Get Started?’ link (

http://wwscc.org/so-how-do-i-get-started112.html ). Contact Noel Aquino for any questions you may have pertaining to how the event runs and what to expect.
